Graduation Dates * 23 May BNCOC Graduation **23 May ORC/BOLC Graduation ***13 June OCS Graduation Captains Warrant Officers Career Course (CWCC), provides officers serving in line units, primary or other staff positions at battalion, brigade, or command level the skills, techniques, and abilities to plan, analyze, brief, recommend, write, and operate as part of a staff element. Skills focus on using the Military Decision Making Process. Course is primarily distributed or distance learning. Officer Candidate School (OCS). OCS provides soldiers selected as officer candidates an opportunity to earn a commission as a 2LT or WO1. Training takes place in a physically and mentally demanding high stress live in environment. OSC assesses candidate’s readiness and potential for commissioning. Each graduate must possess the character, leadership, integrity, and skills needed for exemplary performance and service to the State of Georgia and the Nation. Officer Refresher (ORC) /Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC). ORC/BOLC provides soldiers selected as Direct Commission Officer’s serving in units , (Doctors, Lawyers, RNs, and other classes of DC candidates as determined by the Personnel Board), and selected line officers, officer training in the character, leadership, integrity, and skills needed for exemplary performance and service to the State of Georgia and the Nation Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course (ANCOC). ANCOC provides soldiers selected for promotion to SFC to acquire the leader skills, knowledge, and experience to lead platoon size units, and to serve in higher level staff positions. Training builds on experience and skills gained in previous training and operational assignments. Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC). BNCOC provides soldiers selected for promotion to SSG the opportunity to acquire the leader skills, knowledge, and experience to lead squad size units. Training builds on experience and skills gained in previous training and operational assignments. Soldier Leader Course (SLC). The Soldier Leader Course is conducted at Accredited Brigade Training Schools Statewide. It provides basic leadership training for soldiers who are time in grade eligble for promotion to Sergeant. The SLC provides soldiers an opportunity to acquire leader skills, knowledge, and experience to lead team size units. It is the foundation for further training and development. Initial Entry Training (IET) provides new GSDF soldiers with basics of
soldier skills, introduction to soldier and GSDF core values,
administrative, and basic technical skills to allow the soldier to
successfully integrate into their unit. All soldiers wishing to join the
GSDF must attend IET unless a waiver for prior service or other is granted. |
