Area of Responsibility by County: 1st Battalion: 5th Brigade Positions Available The newly re-organized 5th Brigade is responsible for all GSDF activities south of I20 and the counties adjacent to and just north of Augusta. The Brigade is growing and taking on new responsibilities throughout South Georgia, but particularly in the Fort Stewart area. We are looking for good team players to fill the positions listed below. Prior military experience is not required. Positions available in the Battalions and Companies (Positions are available throughout South Georgia) Soldiers Entry level. We need many people, male or female, to join the GSDF and go through our Initial Entry Training program and learn to become hard working soldiers. Growth opportunities are abundant. Battalion Commander Major (O4) or below. Must be a self starter with a high sense of urgency. The ability, capability and willingness to communicate via email and telephone are required. Strong interpersonal skills are a must. Must be a team player and wish for the Battalion and Brigade to exceed expectations. Battalion Officers Captains (O3) and Lieutenants. We have a variety of positions available in several Battalions including operations, training, personnel and supply. Battalion and Company NCOs We have tremendous leadership opportunities for NCOs, particularly E6 and below. Positions available on the 5th Brigade Headquarters Staff (All HQ positions are based out of the Forsyth Armory in Forsyth, Georgia) Public Affairs Officer Can have any officer rank up to Lieutenant Colonel (O5). Will initiate public relations activities throughout South Georgia including press releases, scheduling of presentations to civic clubs, special projects and coordination of Battalion PAO efforts. Will work closely with the Brigade Commander and the GSDF PAO and his staff. Recruiting and Retention Officer Lieutenant or Warrant Officer to aggressively pursue the recruitment of personnel in South Georgia. Will work closely with the GSDF Recruiting Officer and his team assigned to the 5th Brigade Area of Responsibility. Recruiting NCO E7 and below. Will work closely with the Recruiting and Retention Officer. Personnel Officer Lieutenant or Warrant Officer. Will track all personnel actions including promotions and awards. Will ensure that all new recruits are processed quickly and efficiently. Personnel Admin Sergeant E7 or below. Will assist the BDE S1 and Personnel Officer. Personnel Admin Assistant E4 or below. IT Officer Lieutenant or Warrant Officer. Will create and maintain a Brigade web site that will permit interactive relationships with all units of the 5th Brigade. Operations NCO E8 or below. Will work closely with the Assistant S3 (Plans & Operations Officer) to initiate or review Mission Request Forms, Operations Orders, Warning Orders and Fragos. Will monitor mission activity of the Battalions. Will write or assist with the writing of Brigade FTX and other training scenarios. Will ensure the operational readiness of all enlisted personnel within the BDE S3 shop. BDE Schools Commandant E8 or E7. Will be responsible for the creation of and ongoing operations and effectiveness of Brigade level IET and SLC training. Will work closely with the Assistant S3 (Training Officer). Communications and Equipment Operators and NCOs All levels needed. Property Officer Lieutenant or Warrant Officer. Assist the Brigade S4 with securing and maintaining Brigade assets and supplies, and ensuring the proper accountability of same. Supply NCO E7 or below. Assist the Brigade S4 and Property Officer with securing and maintaining Brigade assets and supplies, and ensuring the proper accountability of same.
Positions available in the 5th Brigade Medical Company Physicians Any specialty. Psychologist CISD/field Mental Health screening. Veterinarian For field hygiene and decontamination. RN and LPN Any experience. Treatment Technicians Medics or Combat Life Savers. Officers and NCOs No medical experience required.

Will monitor Battalion IET and SLC training. Will coordinate participation in all schools offered by GSDF G3 Section. Communications & Electronics Officer Major (O4) or below. Must have experience with and understanding of communications equipment/radios. Will lead the effort to create a Brigade communications network, procure the most effective communication assets and coordinate the network with the GSDF HQ and other units. Will also lead the effort to create a Brigade web site that will permit interactive relationships with all units of the 5th Brigade. IT Officer Lieutenant or Warrant Officer.
